After having an excellent few days with family, Monday turned in to the scariest day of our lives! Adi went unresponsive for about 20 minutes.
What was a routine wakeup for us Monday (well, it was like a Sunday for us because both Nick and I were home) morning. Nick and I both went into Adi's room to wake her up because she was still sleeping and it was almost 8 a.m. I rubbed her tummy and she opened her eyes and said "hi mommy" and then asked for daddy and I told her "he is sitting in the chair honey" she rolled over to look at him and said "hi daddy" and proceeded to stand up. She was leaning against her crib rail and just fell over pulling her blanket down with her which landed on her face. We both thought she was playing with us so I grabbed her blanket and said peek-a-boo! This is when horror hit...her eyes were rolled back in her head and she started to choke on her tongue. I yelled for Nick to come by me and he grabbed her and ran downstairs her little body was completely limp.
When I got downstairs (I had to grab Ryleigh) she was still unresponsive but we after 3 minutes got her to open her eyes but she was very blank stare kind of eyes and would look at Nick and then me but made no sounds and then again her eyes rolled back in her head and she was looking more pale. I called 911 and they sent an ambulance. She continued to do this for 20 minutes and I only know this because we woke her up at 7:55 a.m. and I called 911 at 8a.m. The ambulance arrived 20 minutes later at 8:20a.m. and by this time we had gotten some coloring to come back to her lips and face. She did not turn blue and did not stop breathing but it was VERY shallow breathing. She was very pale and her lips were pale too.
By the time we got to the hospital at 8:55 a.m., she was doing VERY good but still wasnt herself but by the time the ER Pediatrician and on-call pediatrician looked at her, she was very much back to normal. They did a blood sugar test and that was normal and an EKG which was also normal. Their explanation is a fluke passing out/fainting episode. I pray this is all it is!
Ryleigh had her 2 month checkup today (I will post info separately for her!) so I got to talk to Dr. Murray about Adi a little bit too...she insisted on seeing her this week (Friday) to run some tests and schedule a pediatric EEG. Please say a few extra prayers for our little girl as we just hope and pray she continues to be the healthy, feisty almost 2 year old that she is!
