SCARY!!!

This weekend brought on the scariest moments of our lives but a hospital stay and some rest and things seem to be going better!

Friday afternoon I started feeling a bit "off" and that is the only way I know how to describe it! I know there are pains that come with pregnancy and such, but this was just different! So, I took it easy and by the time I got home Friday night, I had ALOT of pelvic pressure. I went to bed as normal but noticed I was have more and more pains as the night progressed! Not all contraction pains either...there were those pains but then there were HARD cramping pains!

Needless to say, contractions were not timeable, but the pain was bad enough I called my clinic right away Saturday morning! They got me in to see them immediately. I did not want to go alone so I waited for Nick to get home from work and Aunt Missy stayed with Adi while we headed to the clinic. As soon as we arrived at the clinic they immediately told me we were to head to LABOR & DELIVERY!?!? Yikes...that alone scared me!

We got to the hospital and explained everything that was happening SO immediately the RN on duty hooked me up to the monitors and baby heartbeat was great and showed no signs of stress, however, I was contracting ever so slightly! Nothing to be completely alarmed about but enough to add a bit of concern to the situation!

After a battery of tests we heard the ever dreaded news...1 of the test came back POSITIVE for leaking amniotic fluids! Immediately the nurse called my OB's on call partner and she was headed to the hospital! And since we go to a small hospital, the ultrasound tech was not in house so she was immediately called STAT to the hospital as well! During all of this "commotion" I of course became a basket case! WHAT? No way! This cannot be happening! The baby is too small! Now what? What are we going to do? It was utter confusion and panic on my end but THANK GOD I have an amazing husband who was there with me every step of the way keeping me calm and reassuring me that EVERYTHING WAS GOING TO BE FINE!

Well, After 2 false positive tests for leaking fluids, an ultrasound showing that my fluid levels are NORMAL and the other main test for fluids came back negative, we all signed relief! We did discover that I have a bladder infection or UTI whichever you call it and THIS can cause pre-term labor especially if you dont catch it soon enough! Well, I had NO signs prior to Friday that anything was wrong. Usually UTI's bring along strong smelling urine, pain while urinating, etc.! I had none of those signs EXCEPT that I knew something was wrong!

After being admitted to the hospital because this is obviously not something ANY of us were willing to chance with me going home, I started bleeding, BRIGHT RED! NOT a good sign at all! However, it stopped by 4:30a.m. Saturday so we are saying it was either from the UTI irritating things OR it could also be from the exams that were performed! Either way, whichever it was, it is gone! I was released Sunday morning and all of us felt MUCH better and more confident that everything was going to be fine! I rested the rest of Sunday!

Monday I headed in to work and only made it about 3 hours and the cramping began again! So, I headed back home and left Adi at daycare so I could rest! After resting for a few hours, the cramping went away and I felt pretty good!

Today has been a good day! A few minor cramps here and there but that is normal and they felt normal so I got a full day of work in! From here on out, if I feel pain, I will be heading home and resting for the well being of myself and the baby!

I have never experienced anything so scary in my entire life and we just Thank God he is protecting our family and keeping us all safe!

P.S. The ultrasound showed baby growing at a rapid pace, about 2 weeks ahead of schedule and about the 97th percentile for size at this point!

Play, Play, Play

Saturday night Nick and I had a great "date night" and Adi had a sleep over with Uncle Bob & Aunt Tanya! It sounds like everyone had a great time!

Sunday was family day and we had a blast!

Adi now loves to play ball with Gretta!

Let daddy loose on the playground...and he gets stuck in the slide!!!

Adi and daddy out for a little stroll after I was finished sweeping the lawn!

Oh the fun we have on our playset!

As wonderful as this weather has been, I wonder when Mother Nature will say enough is enough!?

The Joys of Spring...or...um...I mean Winter!

Last Saturday was a busy day for us!

We had my niece, Hannah's bridal shower during the day and bachelorette & bachelor party that same night! Everything turned out wonderful. Hannah and Luke received a pile of great gifts for BOTH of their special day/night! When rented a school bus which was great so everyone could enjoy a few drinks without worrying about the drive! I felt extra special as jello shots were made WITH and WITHOUT alcohol so I jumped right in on the fun! We headed to WI Dells where we went to the Comedy Club which was...lets just say...interesting and HILARIOUS!!!!

A special thank you to Jess, Ben & Emma for keeping Adi for us (even with us getting home a little later than planned)! It sounds as though Adi had a fabulous time with all of them! Bath time was extra special as she got to enjoy having Emma play with her! 45 minutes later the tears came as Adi was NOT done playing with Emma but as soon as she hit her pillow and the lights were out, so was she!!!

Sunday was a wonderful family day! We played on the swingset, rode 4-wheelers, took walks in the woods, cleaned up rocks in the yard and just had a blast! So much so that mommy AND daddy spaced lunch time AND nap time! So...lunch was eaten at 2 and no nap until 2:30! We are still nighttime schedule keepers so we woke her up by 4 in hopes she would head back to bed at normal time. So after nap, we were back outside running around for a couple more hours and then supper, bathtime and bedtime on schedule as planned with no problems! She was EXHAUSTED!

Monday and Tuesday were great outside days at daycare too! But, might I add in another molar coming through was not fun...but, we are almost there...on the homestretch now!

Wednesday was a daddy & daughter day which Miss Adi absolutely loves! And of course Daddy does too! :) It was another day FILLED with the outdoors and Adi's first run in with the taste of ALOT of dirt! This of course will not be the last of this lovely mess! Bath water was gritty so I say thats a hard days play at it's best!!! :)

The rest of this week is going to be great as well. Thursday and Friday nights will be hanging out around the house figuring out what needs to be done...and the top of my priority list is spraying ALOT of home defense as the spiders have come out by the thousands in the rock beds...and those of you who know me well, know that I have a serious phobia of spiders!

Saturday night will be a date night for Nick and I. I got Trans Siberian Orchestra tickets for Christmas and have really been looking forward to seeing this. Nick now, he could pass but is being the great husband he is and going along with me! Aunt Tanya has offered to keep Miss Adi for us and has been asking for a sleep over now since BEFORE Adi was born, SO, Adi is going to have a blast as well and keep Aunt T on her toes for the night! I hate leaving Adi but this is great time away for us and her so we are going to go enjoy a nice, relaxed dinner, show and have no worries on getting home quickly or worrying about interrupting Adi's sleep because once again, we are sticklers on the night routines! :)

Baby Thompson

We had our ultrasound done last night! It was so much fun! This little one in my tummy is an active little guy/girl let me tell you! The ENTIRE ultrasound we could see arms flinging and legs kicking and of course I could feel these kicks which got REALLY hard by the end! Dr. Schad felt all of these kicks and kept apologizing because the baby was so active that there was NO way we were getting a good look at that adorable little face! So instead he switched over to 3D/4D and got us a quick little snapshot of his/her face and we also got a pretty cool picture of the babies skeleton/spinal cord area!

Baby is breech right now which means nothing at this point except that the little bug can go head down and back up to breech every single day! This wont become a problem until 36 weeks or so! Heartbeat was 136 beats per minute, heart, kidneys, thigh bones, skeleton, brain, everything is looking great!

We were informed once again (not that this is bad) that we will be having another large baby more than likely! At this point we are still on track for a July 23rd due date but the size of the baby is in about the 80th percentile for size...which is pretty much right where Adi was too! And who could forget that she came out at 9 pounds, 5 ounces!

So with that being said, VBAC/C-Section has been discussed once again! At this point I am still not willing to discuss a c-section. My goal is to deliver vaginally, however, if medically necessary for myself or for the baby we will go ahead with the c-section! We just hope with another large baby that I dont go through all the labor, hours of pushing, forceps and THEN have to have the c-section again! Doing that is one of the reasons I had such a difficult recovery. As my doctor put it, I went through both kinds of delivery in one day and THAT is not good for anyone's body! So, we will trudge along and Nick and I will make the decision that is right for me, the baby and our family!

Here she is! Or he!!!!

I have to tell you I am not much of a fan of 3D/4D ultrasounds but I am so happy we got a .5 second glimpse at their adorable little face!

20 Week Ultrasound

Today is our 20 week ultrasound! It is such an exciting time for us! Some may not think this is exciting for us because we do not find out the sex of the baby but just being able to see and hear him or her in there is the most exciting thing in the world! It will especially be nice for Nick too as he doesn't get the enjoyment I get daily with all the kicks & punches!

We are asked all the time how we can prepare when we don't know the sex of the baby...Dr. Schad (who is SO happy we wont be peaking!) said it perfectly...every new puppy needs food, a bowl for food, water and a bowl for water, right??!! Makes sense!! If there is anything we find we need the day we come home or a week later or a month or a year later, the store is not far away! We learned this with Adi when my breast pump stopped working at 9 o'clock at night...all it took was a visit to the store and we were fixed!

We are as ready and prepared as anyone can be for another baby...minus the sea of pink or sea of blue and that is okay with us! :) All of the details to come shortly!

Winter 2012

Nick and I were able to take a mini vacation this week and head up North after a big winter storm hit. We werent supposed to leave town until Thursday after work but I was able to get off early Wednesday so we packed Adi up for her first weekend visit with Grandma and Grandpa Robson! It was so hard for us to leave her but, she is not quite old enough to ride yet so we decided 1 trip will do us all some good. She of course had a BLAST with Grandma and Grandpa and wore them right out! Adi even got to go on school bus route with grandma a couple times...boy was that a treat for her...and for the kids the way it sounds!

Now Nick and I...we also had a great time! We of course couldnt do the kind of riding we would do under normal circumstances but with me being pregnant we had to take it easy which still got me a couple hundred miles in 2 days of riding! By the end of day 2 my body had enough so I skipped saturday and headed home early to get Adi. Nick stayed up North with his family and some friends and hitched a ride home today!

Some may think we are crazy and this looks like too much work...well...this "work" is just plain fun for us!!! Bring on the snow! The 50 degree weather this week does not make us happy...it is too soon! :(
