Ear Infections

Last week we had a pretty bad cough going on with Adi. I know cold/allergies are an issue now so I wasnt too worried. Felt bad for not being able to make it go away for her more than it was affecting her. She didn't cry or fuss other than 1 morning when I woke her up for the day, she just wanted to snuggle momma so I decided it best I stay home with her. She had a pretty bad morning but by that afternoon she was doing great again, other than her tugging at her ear once in awhile.

While I know she has a wax issue (an abundance) in her left ear, I have just been keeping an eye on her temperment, any fevers, etc.! Well, she has had no fevers not fussy other than when she wants to eat and so on. So I was not worried.

Well, yesterday, Thursday, Adi came to work with me for the day and everything was great. She was doing her normal tugging of the ear every once in awhile, UNTIL a guy here at work, Dustin came to play with her and she was all smiles and giggles for him. Then, she grabbed her ear and would NOT let go and just started crying...so, I got on the phone with Dr. Murray right away and she wanted to see her right away. We went to the clinic and sure enough...we had to clean out the was for Dr. Murray to see her ear and of course, there is the infection! Antibiotics for 10 days and we are off to the races! I told Dr. Murray I feel bad taking her in like that because she was all smiles and happy therefore anyone other than momma or daddy would not know anything is wrong! I am glad I took her in and hopefully get her feeling better for our 3 day Memorial weekend.

Big news....ADELYN IS 7 MONTHS OLD TODAY! I can't believe it! Our baby girl is 7 MONTHS OLD! And since we were at the clinic we got a weight check....17lbs 3oz. and 27 1/2 inches long!

Mother's Day

It's official...I am forever in the Mother's Day club! I have felt like a mommy since the day we had Adi but last night laying in bed after an AMAZING day with my daughter and husband, I had an "ah ha" moment! I am FOREVER in the Mother's Day club and it felt so great! I don't know why it took so long to hit me...but, it was a GREAT feeling!

Our day was very laid back and PERFECT as Nick woke up with Adi and let me stay in bed. We then went for breakfast (as Nick is a great cook, BUT, his breakfast skills are not, hmmm...lets just say he doesnt have breakfast skills), went flower shopping for me and then we went home and planted my flowers and 2 bushes! I got 2 beautiful cards and Adi got me 2 bushes that I've been wanting for my rock garden that are so beautiful and daddy also got me a great gift...a day at the spa...basically I can do what I want, an hour massage, pedicure, manicure, cut, highlight, anything I want! Also, daddy gave me a day off of diaper duty...no diaper changes for momma yesterday! I don't mind changing diapers but 1 day off isn't bad!!!

No, I dont need gifts because the gift of my husband and my daughter are gift enough...but what made my day most special was all the love I know we have in our family!

What a wonderful 1st Mother's Day! It was special!

Thank You Secret October Mommy

While becoming the mommy of an October baby I have met so many wonderful, amazing women who also have October babies! We all decided that we would all have a "secret mommy" that would send our babies a birthday gift every year or just random little gifts here and there and yesterday to our surprise Adi had a little package in the mail! It was a super cute bib from her secret mommy! But, lucky for us, the secret is out...Amy Page Perry and her adorable son, Mason is our secret mommy! THANK YOU to them for the adorable little double-sided Dr. Seuss bib for Miss Adi...

Adi is at work with me today so breakfast is served in the stroller!!!!

Yes, April 27, 2011, marked a HUGE day for Adelyn! She turned 6 MONTHS OLD!!! The day started great with mommy singing Happy Birthday and then she got to spend the rest of her day with daddy! What more can a girl ask for!?!

6 month pictures turned out to be not so easy...as little miss Adi decided there was NO WAY that she would look at the camera...she just wanted the "6 Months" sign! My oh my how much fun it is to watch her grow and learn so many new and exciting things!

But...take the sign away and take the onesie off and this is what we get...

Happy 6 months old baby girl! Your the center of mommy & daddy's world and we love you so very much! God is so good to us!

EASTER!!!

I know this is a week late but we had a wonderful Easter filled with loving family! Sunday morning we headed to church which Adi LOVED until about half-way through and she decided that she had had just about enough of her poofy, ADORABLE dress Auntie Andrea & Uncle Jon got her!

Of course she got some "goodies" from the Easter bunny too....

Thank you to Melissa, Aaron & boys and Shanna & Cade for the goodies too...she will love her little pool this summer and she plays with her tummy time alligator all the time when she is at work with mommy!
