6 Month Well Baby Checkup

Miss Adelyn went in today for her 6 month well baby checkup! Everything was very good for the most part! We have been noticing a little tugging at her ear which we were hoping was just teething and not the nasty colds going around mommy's office and it turns out Miss Adi had a fairly big chunk of wax in her ear! So, she was NOT a fan of getting her ear cleaned out but we are hoping this will help some of her discomfort! The sad part is, if she didnt tug at it from time to time we wouldnt even know anything is wrong with her...she just doesnt cry or fuss! She does get fussy at bathtime or if she is bored in her bouncer or playing with her new floor kicking toy, etc.! We now have an official roller...she has been rolling from back to tummy for quite some time and had rolled from tummy to back 1 time, but world look out...she is rolling all over the place now! It is so fun to watch her learn new things and to see her "get into" new things too! I know everyone says that phase will go away, but for now I am enjoying everything new she is experiencing! It is great, awesome, wonderful and a privilege that God chose us to be her mommy and daddy!

The statistics are in:

Weight: 15lbs. 2oz. (50%)
Height: 27 inches (90%)
Head circumference: 17 1/2 inches (95%)

I love that we have such a skinny mini baby! Everyone always tells us how long and skinny she is...the way we see it is...mommy and daddy just have less weight to carry in the car seat! :)

We will be starting fruits soon! But can't start fruits until I am home to witness as I do NOT want to miss any moments if I do not have to! We did not, however, get the okay on any juices. Our pediatrician suggests "once in awhile" to get her used to new tastes but other than an occasional "treat" of juice, no juices for Miss Adi! Fine by me...milk and water it is!

We have also been reading up on the new suggestions for rear facing car seats until the age of 2 and it looks like all of the studies that have been done are saying this is the safest traveling for toddlers under 2...even though her legs will look scrunched, the pediatrician suggested to us to pay attention to how our legs are "bent" in a vehicle and a toddler is no different...SO off shopping we go for a 3-in-1 seat for her!

Also, good news, I have FINALLY decided on her room and the bedding is in, now I just need the decorating part to begin! I am so very happy we have this to do for her! I am getting extremely tired of the 3 BOXES of books stacked in her room! She needs this space of her own and I love what we have decided! Pictures will follow when we have the finished product!

Wow! I will stop rambling...there is just so much information to share and it is all so exciting! 6 month pictures to follow SOON! Can you believe it...6 MONTHS!!!! Best 6 months of our lives and the rest of our lives to live every day as the best day!

What a GREAT weekend...

Sunday was such a gorgeous day we got on our sunscreen, sunglasses and sun hat and hit the lawn for a much needed day outside! It worked and we got a 2 1/2 hour nap after our outdoor visit! How fun it is to get Adi outside to see what the rest of the world has to offer...she LOVES the moving tree limbs and watching the dogs play!
This week brings a couple visitors to our house! Nick's nephews, Wyatt and Seth have been staying with us since Wednesday and are staying until this Thursday while their mom and dad get a mommy/daddy vacation to Jamaica! It was an exciting day on Saturday when Wyatt shot a turkey! We couldnt let this photo op pass us by! I love all the camo and then Adi's pink socks and pink bow! Congrats Wyatt...it's an AWESOME turkey! I must say that cousin Austin shot a turkey this weekend as well, but we didnt get to see his turkey with Adi!

We are trying all sorts of new foods now...mainly rice and oatmeal, which Adi still HATES the oatmeal...but we continue to try! But, the newest taste test has been carrots...if you could have heard what her face is showing...let me try..."mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!" She really loves her veggies! I am now a bit afraid to try the fruits because she loves veggies so much I dont want her to get the sweet taste and push the veggies to the side!

All in all, this weekend was GREAT! Super busy, but I guess that comes with having 3 children in the house and 4 dogs! But, it is great and we love having Wyatt and Seth stay with us and are so happy they are getting to spend this time with us and Adi is absolutely ADORING them! It is so precious to watch her just giggle because they walk in the room!

More kids in the forecast for us...NO...I will keep borrowing other's children and that can be our fix!!! :)

Visitors

Today we had a couple visitors...our friends Jessica and Emma came to visit and brought Adi all sorts of goodies for winter next year which is awesome! It seemed every time we tried to get together poor Em would get a cold, then Adi was sick, then I was sick, then Em was sick again! But, it finally worked out this weekend...thank goodness because we missed them dearly!

I don't think Adi looks like she is having fun at all, what do you think!?!?! :)

5 Month Photos

OUR PRECIOUS BABY GIRL IS 5 MONTHS OLD!!!
Sorry These are so late but it has been a bit on the busy side at the Thompson house...We have our little roller on our hands and the last thing I want to be doing is sitting on the computer when I get home from work...I might miss something you know! She is changing so much every day! We are feeding rice, squash, green beans and now sweet potatoes too! So far, so good...she likes it all, EXCEPT the dreaded oatmeal! She does NOT like the oatmeal and I think I am going to give her a few day break from even attempting to feed it and come back to it and hopefully she will do better! No fruits yet, as I dont want to give fruits too early and her not start to not like veggies...Carrots are next on the list!
We now have little miss curious on our hands too...hmmm...this sign looks interesting!?!?
