5 Months...

Today marks Adelyn's 5 MONTH birthday! Of course this couldn't be just an ordinary day for us or ordinary weekend...it had to be EXTRORDINARY!

Yesterday marked a HUGE day in Adelyn's life as well as mommy and daddy's...she ROLLED over for the first time! How exciting is that?!!? Very exciting, right!?!? YES! But, today, Sunday may take the cake...it is all exciting but today Adelyn's FIRST TOOTH popped in! It was not there Saturday night as Adi had been chewing on my finger and I felt nothing! But today, Aunt Tanya was visiting and Adi found her finger and WOW!!!!!!!!! SHE HAS A TOOTH! A little bitty, teeny tiny TOOTH on the bottom center! I am not going to lie...I was so overjoyed tears filled my eyes! I cannot believe our baby girl has a TOOTH!!!! I am overcome with joy as every day I look at her and think God must really love Nick and I to let us be so blessed to have such an amazing little girl!

I hear so many horror stories about teething, like fevers, crabby, crying, frustration, chewing, more crying, miserable times for parents and baby...well, we had chewing so I knew she was teething but there was nothing to go with the chewing, no fevers, no crankiness, no crying, no nothing... so I just assumed we had a while to go before a tooth actually popped...Nope...it just showed up! Thank goodness for her sake and ours that this was so easy as we will count our blessings because I know it probably won't be this easy for teeth to come but one can hope, right!?! Well I am!

When Adi and I said our prayers tonight we asked God to keep this as easy as possible for her as of course none of us ever want to have our children in pain! God is great! We count our blessings every single day!

With that being said, we are also keeping JoEllen, Shanna, Little Duane and baby Bentley in our hearts and prayers and hope they all have speeding recoveries and that God will keep them all safe and heal them fast!

...5 month photos will follow as soon as I get time to get them downloaded!

Busy Busy Busy

The past week has found us nowhere in sight. With Adi now being over her cold and slight ear infection we decided last minute...wait...no....last SECOND to head to Nick's Aunt Debbie & Uncle Wally's house in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. They still have a few feet of snow on the ground so we got to take advantage of getting our last ride of the season in. It was AWESOME! Adi got to spend some time with Aunt Debbie, Uncle Wally, Cousin Hans & Cousin Jenn! Oh yeah, she got to spend some time with Al & Karen too! Nick and I took turns staying back at the house and meeting the group out riding for lunch and they even offered to keep Adi for a couple hours for Nick and I to get out and get a ride in too! It's not a trust thing...it's a mommy thing but I did NOT like leaving her. But, all went very well...except the HUGE diaper blow-out our little princess gave to Auntie Debbie while mommy and daddy were out for a ride! Good for us, bad for them...our baby who USUALLY LOVES to get undressed did NOT think it was such a good idea for Auntie Debbie to be undressing her! :)

All in all the 4 day weekend with a 5 1/2 - 6 hour drive were perfect! She did AWESOME on the ride up and home!

Now today, Wednesday, is Adi & Daddy day and they are off buying mommy a new car! Yes, these GM product die-hards are going with a Toyota for awhile...we need some fuel economy and only need this vehicle to get us by for a year or 2...if we can stretch it that far, AWESOME!!! I am excited! It's not brand new...and I LOVE that idea! We do NOT need two new vehicles!

I also want to let our friend JoEllen know we are thinking of her! She had surgery on Monday and had a few complications but is doing well and supposed to be heading home today! We love you JoEllen and hope everything is going well! Our well wishes and prayers are with you! :)

4 Months Old

Thank you Auntie Andrea & Uncle Jon for "my first bear"! I LOVE to chew on her! :)

Can you believe our 9 pound 5 ounce full-term c-section baby is already 4 months old!?! It has been an amazing 4 months and we are JUST getting over her first cold! We had to make a trek into Urgent Care for the first time last night as her having a cold for 9 days was JUST ENOUGH!!! The PA was GREAT and gave us some amoxicillan to treat her cold and her left ear was a little pink...she has a bit of wax in there so it was hard for the PA to see the drum perfectly but decided it best to get her on the meds! After 1 dose it is like we have a brand new baby...she is sleeping better, eating better and just getting back to being semi-normal again! So, we didnt get to take her 4 month pics right on her birthday but who's counting a few days...not me!

Mommy takes pictures of my feet or "piggies" all the time! I think it is her obsession! LOL :)

Even though I still have a cold, I am still ALL smiles! :)

Colds All Around

The cold season has hit our house. Poor little Adi has been congested and coughing since Friday and now yesterday Momma came down with the same illness. You can just see in her eyes she feels terrible, yet, she is STILL smiling! We are using steamers, baby vicks vapor rub, Johnson's bathtime vapor bath, nose sucker ALOT and just lots of TLC! There hasnt been much sleep happening at the Thompson house the last 5 days but last night she FINALLY got some good rest...went to sleep at 7:45 p.m. (mom and dad at 7:50p.m.) and she slept until 4:15 a.m., ate all of her bottle and back to dreamland she went until about 8 a.m.! She needed the rest and the nutrition...she hasnt been herself but we seem to be on the home stretch now! Hopefully mom doesnt get it as bad and I can kick it in a couple days!
